Depression

Depression, severe melancholy, a word more or less every sensible person heard at least once in his lifetime, or went through it. It is a mental disorder in which an individual is in a disliking state of mind. Your brain gets distracted and you cannot just control your thoughts, cannot think voluntarily. You begin to lose interest in every activity, even if you previously loved to do that. You begin to neglect your existence and might get suicidal at times. Everything you do, do with a heavy heart, flooded with thoughts.
But what causes it? Several reasons can make a person depressed. Not getting something/someone you wanted is one of the most common causes. It might be due to financial stress or family problems . However, loneliness can also lead a person to depression. Misunderstandings, getting less attention, friendship or relationship breakups, losing your loved ones, anything can take over a person. But WHY?
The simple answer to this 'why' is the inner self loving the feeling of immense sadness. Depressed people begin to like triggers and start noticing minute things and make an exaggerated flow in mind making a mountain out of a molehill. A person has to accept the circumstances and try to divert the thoughts. Get someone to exhaust out your thoughts. Discussion can make things better. You can discuss your dilemmas with any friend, e-friend, or even with yourself in the form of a diary. Journaling has a huge impact to overcome depression(saying this with personal experience) because a person realizes the thing he is thinking again and again can or cannot be controlled, but he can be more productive if he stops overthinking about that particular topic and might solve half of the problem. Medication also frees the mind from mental outburst. One of the best things is to find the origin and work accordingly. If the financial crisis depresses you, find out ideas to make money. If lack of attention makes you unhappy, just minimize the mode of noticing (e.g. whatsapp has a feature of turning off read receipt and online status, or in-person you avoid getting contacts with them and enjoy with others) etc.
